Also, what kind of journalist would not disclose that the person he is talking about in this tweet (below)....IS HIS WIFE? Oh, right, the same kind of activist who is promoting a far-right Christian nationalist, IRS denialist conspiracy theory. You goofs are cooked.

For context, the BC Conservative staffer fired for spreading residential school denialism on Orange Shirt Day has a long and clear history of promoting anti-Indigenous, denialist content. It's no accident; they are following the far-right playbook: provoke, platform, profit🧵

A big win today - for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and truth and reconciliation- at the annual Orange Shirt Day game. Thanks to @niigaanwewidam.bsky.social and everyone for making Winnipeg a leader in this important game.

Given recent concerning events, @TruthInTheSoil and I have decided to speak out about the harm and harassment of residential school denialism, arguing in this new piece for The Conversation that confronting it is an ethical and shared responsibility: news.umanitoba.ca/the-conversa...

Thanks to Phyllis Webstad and Kristy McLeod for coming to Winnipeg today to launch Decolonization and Me. It was an honour to host the discussion about this fantastic book. Congrats!

I’m excited to share that I’ve been named to this year’s class of the Royal Society of Canada, College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists. I’m humbled and honoured by this incredible recognition and grateful for @umanitoba’s support.

This past week, 4 research school research teams have shared evidence - from historical documents to exhumation - confirming additional deaths of children at residential schools across the country. IRS denialists will no doubt downplay results, but they are truly heartbreaking.

Brodie also went on to found her own, far-right, Trump-style political party, OneBC, that has the same name as a diarrhea medicine. 💩

Very telling that Dallas Brodie made a whole TikTok trying to undermine the recent announcement about the Kuper Island Residential School, saying "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence," but doesn't mention the 50 additional deaths confirmed by church/state records.

Residential school denialism, in sum:
Denialists: no deaths occurred!
Nations: confirm additional deaths
Denialists: still no bodies!
Nations: exhume, confirm deaths
Denialists: but no police are involved!
Police: confirm additional deaths
Denialists: (ongoing loop of hate)

When The Pine Needles Fall is now a multi-award-winning national bestseller, but honestly it is been most gratifying to hear teachers enthusiastically embracing the book to teach about the Mohawk Resistance of 1990. Changing the narrative was the goal, so thanks for your support!

For those unfamiliar with the Kuper Island Residential School, it was one of BC's first schools, sometimes called "Alcatraz," as the institution was located on Penelakut Island.

Distilling the lessons of 1990 and its legacy is why Ellen and I wrote When the Pine Needles Fall - and I'm glad, in this moment of Elbows Up colonialism, it's helping to teach more people about what it means to love the land and fight for the decolonial future: btlbooks.com/book/when-th...
