The situation is worse than this. Low-level ‘useless’ appointees now have the power to unseat high-level officers if they report that their boss is ‘disloyal.’ It now gives these appointees real power that they never held before.

I get it, I’ve moved around a lot as well. I’ve been in a new area for 3 years now, and outside of work and family, I haven’t made a real connection. I’m still in touch with old friends, but I miss being able to hang out with different people.

Mentors are easier. Identify what you need help with, find people in that area, then ask around who would be good to talk to/work with. It’s like finding a good attorney, you need references 😉

Friends are harder as you get older. Trust is the hardest part to develop.

Dance lessons aren’t that expensive, and the waltz is not the hardest dance to figure out. Find a man who gets that. They exist, but might need a little guidance/direction.
