They caved on the promise to have a vote in the Senate. There is no promise that vote will carry and there is no promise that it will carry in the House.

I don't believe Ogles is correct and I agree with your comments on their F'ed up priorities. That said, they're not in session so they can't block anything!!

It is amazing that we have placed so much authority in one person. Johnson has shown (like McConnell had before him) that our Congress is NOT a deliberative body, rather one that seeks and responds to power.

They have effectively closed the Legislative Branch. Without the House, the Senate cannot pass any Bills. Trump will declare an emergency and rule by EO.

The question becomes "why haven't the Democrats gone to a Federal Judge and had her sworn in?" It isn't written anywhere that only the Speaker can swear-in a member.
