Books, sports, games and art. Still waiting for a Stanley Cup for Vancouver. Known to enjoy a wee dram. Lawyer but nothing here is legal advice.
This seems a fair assessment to me. The real problem is the cost of land in the metro area and the red tape that scuppered the previous waterfront project where Kerfoot actually owned the land to build on.

Watching some SCTV tonight and will pour out a wee dram.

What good fortune to have a chance meeting like that.

Excellent choice of a cover. That’s in my collection as well. He notably improved over time and did great work.

Do you still have North American editions being published? Speaking as a fan from Day 1 on the Canadian west coast.

Galloway is definitely worth following although I don’t always agree with him.

Happy to corroborate this opinion.

Speaking as a horrified Canadian: how good a job are the traditional American media doing in covering this? It looks and smells like fascism but are they going that far in the reporting?

Also it was a highlight of my pretty successful minor hockey career of playing at the Pacific Coliseum a couple of times back in the 80s. So I have a lot of nostalgia for that rink. The Canucks were terrible back then too.

Can report the crowd atmosphere at PWHL games is much better than at Canucks games.

Sadly this does not surprise me.

Question from north of the border: how well is the traditional American media covering this? At this point the emperor has no clothes. Which our PM had the courage to say in Davos.

Yet people believe midterm elections will stop the madness. The system is broken with a supine Congress and no chance the cabinet will ever invoke the 25A. Trump has American foreign policy back to 19C imperialism. Carney’s speech only scratched the surface of warning about the future.
January 24, 2026 at 8:40 PM
This is made possible by Congress abdicating all of its power and responsibilities. The Dems can’t get impeachment over the line and the cabinet will never use the 25A so here we are. With a US president taking foreign policy back to the 19C imperialism.

Compare and contrast Carney’s speech with Trump’s. The difference could not be more stark.

Observing the US from above the 49th parallel has always been a fraught challenge of equal parts bemusement and horrified disbelief. Of course the tariffs and sovereignty threats have crystallized a paradigm shift.

The domestic terrorists bear a striking resemblance to, let me see, ICE.
