Just watched ALIENS in 70mm at the Egyptian! Perfect experience. Only slightly tainted because I spent the entire movie thinking about how Sam Altman is just “nice” Carter Burke

Otherwise… 10/10 movie!! This should be shown on big screens everywhere once a month.

2023 / book 22. The main DOOM dudes seem *intense* but that makes for a good read. Cool to use DOOM and its massive pop-culture footprint to explore parts of the wider 90s gaming industry. Good read! Interesting follow-up read for TOMORROW AND TOMORROW AND TOMORROW.

2023 / book 21. What a ride. Propulsive and meaningful and pulpy and emotional. Starts as a great detective novel and becomes so much more while still hitting every beat of a great detective story. This book is a dang magic trick.

Thanks to M. Willis for the gift and Kevin Church for the rec
