Not in any universe.

The big change is that the game is being designed with a minimal interest in managing power level or complexity. Cards are demonstrably stronger than ever, standard rotation is longer than ever, and includes more sets than ever.
In addition the cost of the game is up around 100 percent over 10 years

If you're talking about the video that I think you're talking about. That video highlights a change in the way that sets are designed that was confirmed by the lead designer of the game. It discusses a push toward casual players and an erosion of the competitive version of the game.

Failing to acknowledge the fact that 200 million dollars made in a single day also comes with deeply perverse and anti consumer incentives and instead writing off skepticism as a contrarian circle jerk is an insult to your intelligence and mine.

Nadu, The One Ring, Vivi, and orcish bowmasters are cards that came out over the last couple years that not only warped every format they were legal in, but also drove up the price of the game for all players, and became instant staples for any deck that could run them.

I've played this game basically since it came out and will play until after hasbro and wotc stop making it. What makes magic engaging is that it's one of the best games ever made, maybe the best.

Not trying to be obtuse but what do you mean by modern game design philosophy. Even after reading the entire thread and a good number of replies I have no idea what you mean.

Also the way the light moves across the face here is seriously beautiful. I keep getting mesmerized by the line from the ear to the nose.

Just a rando on the internet but I think the profile perspective does a lot for your work. You've got some really great shapes that can get lost in portraits

Yeah you're totally right, I completely misunderstood what you were looking for.
