It's built within the Monterey Bay. Look far enough to the left and now it's parallel to shore. Look far enough south and now it's (gasp) heading towards shore.
Much like when heading away from the north pole every direction is south.
In the end I'm left with a resounding: "so?"

Otherwise I'd say regular fonts made bold instead of using the specifically designed bold font. Totally irrational, I know.

There is no such thing. Nobody saying "quick question" means that. It's at least a two-parter that requires a detailed explanation. It's really a nice way of saying "I have a difficult question and I'd like your permission to ask this." JUST FUCKING ASK.
