What Matters . . . Learning to Let Go. #collage #artjournal

This image originally came from an ad for a (small) hot water heater. The father of the family, wearing a plaid shirt, the son and daughter are on the steps looking towards their wife/mother who’s crouching down and painting pumpkins onto a western landscape and laughing. A bucket of orange mums, a lantern, several pumpkins, and a festive fall hair ornament for the mother, are arranged around the scene. She’s also painted the cabinet doors above her with more western landscape, and of course, another pumpkin.

Monday Maple Leaf Mandala #collage #mandala
This collage mandala has 5 layers. From the bottom: A large circle of green trees and ferns has been cut with 8 points along the edge. The cut out pieces have been rearranged and put back in new places - with a gap of white paper showing. A smaller circle of a sunset, with purple, orange, gold and lavender, has been cut with 8 points along the edge. Next a smaller 8 pointed circle with orange and purple. Then a wreath of bay leaves (?) with an orange/gold maple leaf in the center finish this mandala.

A heavy frost last night inspired this “Last of the Flowers” mandala.
