Learn what to cut. Not all of those things are necessary. What will matter in five years? What can be delegated? And how can you set aside time to care for the core of you? Your value, always, is so high - even if you did nothing. You are of constant worth. You are loved, just because you’re amazing

Probably the scar on my toe from kicking a shell on a sandbar. They told me it was behind me, and I was trying to jump back over it…. It was not behind me.

Maybe the time I outran a bee and it stung my cheek.

The message of the new life… we are the seeds called to break through the permafrost and take the life God gives us to bring that life to the world. Radical. Let us believe… and let us live it. Like we are punk teenagers who have no doubt in the power of God to change all creation into the kindom.

Just today, we were talking economic systems and I got to ask the question about who shapes consumer demand. We talk a lot about power, and how not examining what we are shown - and why - is giving out power over. Awareness is critical, and humanities help teach us to perceive the layers before us.

All of this is critically important. I work at a STEM school, and teach Government/World Geography. I love science as well, but chose to focus on this area because it’s the ideas and patterns of how people get along as a community. How we are aware enough to think critically about what is presented.

I’d settle for getting rid of the “winner takes all” for states. If you wanna be really nice, gimme ranked voting.

Oh she’s unique with the history for sure… but I love Jen Psaki and Joy Reid, and find Ayman Mohyeldin good as well.

Fortunately Rachel has other ways to consume her content, like the podcasts.

And ofc medical transition isn’t necessarily necessary for that. It’s more claiming and living who they are… which is what’s healthiest for EVERYONE. Bc the truth is… we are not two sizes fits all people.

A trans woman is a woman because that’s who she IS.

But I know gender exists more because of the trans people I know, the ones where you can see them breathing in their truth more after surgery or ‘mones. The way they can be vulnerable in their strength instead of wearing the brittle armor of cultural expectations.

It’s just… what is actually true.

Not cis, but nonbinary and finding all of this fascinating because gender as a concept is so foreign.

I often ask (more successfully in spiritual/religious circles) “if you didn’t have a body, what gender would you be” bc that gets the huh. Moment.

I know I have been mitigating my negative feelings with less news consumption, but I love Rachel. It’s just healthier sometimes to take a break.
