I'm kinda disappointed by this game somewhat, it set a high bar in the first 2 hours of the game by making some of the interactions be tied to the game, like turning of the voice sound in order to pass a guy, but then it just all goes away, no one the gimmicks are used and it just bog standard VN

I think a lot of people in general just dont have desire to understand anything, there is so many people crying about TAA blur, and ghosting, and dithering but then will call rdr2 best looking game even when that game is built on backbone of everything being TAA + dither

well it could be there is no lumen, you can type
r.GenerateMeshDistanceFields = 1
r.DynamicGlobalIlluminationMethod = 1
which should potentially force lumen on

I think valve of all companies can probably afford to sell at loss if it means bringing more people into steam given they make huge bank from that

If this is on not 5.4 or 5.5 you can go to engine.ini and check if there is lumen by just typing r.lumen.visualize=1 ( or 4 if it 5.3 or older), if it is 5.4 or 5.5 you can just create the engine.ini file yourself and set it to read only

I think i remember something being off about the team even way back in 2021, but i wasnt too invested to look deep, plus discord community servers is always a massive hellscape i tend to stay away, very disappointed that i have backed up the game even if it was a small 5 euro donation

Playing re4r and it is genuine insane how god awful the aliasing even at 4k is, i had to basically go up to 200% SSAA and then use interlace rendering to claw some performance back

I'm not on 5090, i'm on 4080 which is what i expect to be the top hardware that can be aimed at, 5090 is currently an unobtainable mythical piece

I can play ue5.6 games at 1440p with DLAA, with HWRT lumen, with HWRT Megalights and get 70fps( 120 with FG), so yes i'm willing to sacrifice to that kind of framerate in singleplayer game, sure a multiplayer game would benefit from stripping to older methods, but not a singleplayer

The game problems stem from lack of key ue5 features, just going to a cinematic settings( which do increase a lot of cvars to by like 4 to 10 times the original values) isnt going to fix things

It isnt, especially with these kind of awful light leakage and the fact that RTXGI only has one light bounce so whenever you turn the flashlight on inside a building that was filled with red light from sun it is gone, no more red light, only light from flashlight is used for the singular bounce

borderlands is a co-op, yes it is part of multiplayer but it isnt a PvP game, you dont need the highest response time there

The singleplayer games shouldn't take notes from multiplayer games, you dont need 120fps on low end gpu like 4060 in singleplayer title while having everything maxed out

Noir detective does bring sound interesting, i'm partially lured in by the snowy areas and the fact that the game looks good( hard carried by lumen+nanite+vsm no doubt), might finally cash in my epic store rewards and buy this game for 30 euros

It feels like chinese studio has peaked with amnesia machine for pigs and after the buyout by sumo digital it lost all of it identity and creative voice( both in metaphorical way and literally since the co founder has the left the studio)

There is no disconnect, the game shouldnt look this bad at it overkill preset when it also consumes a shit load of vram for that said overkill preset

I mean it is static mostly but having non baked GI saves on time making the map and final disk space( like a ton given the size of the map), plus i personally think this game is high fidelity, it does have lumenGI even if it less accurate software version it still is raytracing

This game has lumen GI which is a form of raytracing(even if it runs in software) and is very resolution sensetive, you can turn the resolution percentage to 80/90% and it should help
