Belated happy mid-autumn festival to everyone who has a cultural background of using the lunar calendar! Sadly, in Europe, there's no Thanksgiving, which means no fall holiday! Hence, a self-embracement of the moon is something I couldn't miss!

Belated happy mid-autumn festival to everyone who has a cultural background of using the lunar calendar! Sadly, in Europe, there's no Thanksgiving, which means no fall holiday! Hence, a self-embracement of the moon is something I couldn't miss!

Courageously did another trip from Salt Lake City to Sacramento, just with the goals of passing through the Basin and Range and seeing the Sierra Nevada and the flat Central Valley.
The Sierras might be more enjoyable in winter, but it was still a fun trip with volcanic features and folds, etc.

Greatest fireworks ever in the 4th of July in SLC at Rice-Eccles stadium, thanks to the Monster Jam world finals this week. Our department building is located at the gem of UU campus

As a fan of Western US geology living on the edge of the Basin and Range, I flew into Denver above the Uinta mountains and traveled back using Amtrak. With the "Rockd" app, this was a really (x1000000) awesome trip! Highly recommend!

Flew 4 hours to San Jose right after the GAGE/SAGE workshop in MN to make a vote for the Presidential Election of South Korea. Flying back home will take 2 hours. The tiredness of travel cannot stop me from voting!
