I mean, I just have a different and more specific definition of what a “community” is and does. I do personally have a lot of social support but i don’t think that support is contingent on whether or not I’m trans.

Transgender people are a demographic, not a community. IDK how I’m being reductive by recognizing that a liberal reporters has a different ideology than me even though we share certain material interests as members of the same demographic (trans women).

Just because a liberal journalist is generally competent at covering trans issues, that doesn’t mean that trans people should feel obligated to follow that journalist.
