This is the type of delusional take we made fun of Republicans for.

To be fair there are definitely a lot of racists and misogynists but the left alienated the people who were just unintentionally ignorant.

The problem is Republicans met people where they were at, intellectually, and the Democrats didn't. The left messaging not necessarily from the politicians but the supporters was to denigrate people for not having an understanding of identity politics or racial issues, and it put people off.
