It seems like people are deliberately misinterpreting my meaning. I am not "cozying up" to racists. I've been an antiracist all of my life. What I'm saying is that anyone who is against the current regime is a good thing, regardless of their other prejudices.

Not true. Senator Robert Byrd is a perfect example. People learn and grow. It took conviction and real guts for MTG to do an about-face when she finally saw that Trump had done one.
She never would have done that, otherwise -exposing herself to vilification by all those she previously supported.
