I only just learned this myself by accident. I was visiting family and on one of our excursions to a free Veteran run museum, found this display. Had to take a picture because I couldn’t believe it.

Case in point. The next facility to open in Florida will be at Camp Blanding. Which was used during WW2 as a concentration camp for Japanese Americans, German POWs and Italians.

It unfairly placed a burden on USPS that no other government agency or private sector entity had ever been required or mandated to uphold. If not for that prefunding requirement the USPS would have stayed in the black. 3/3

Any profit made goes back into goods and services to provide the American public a delivery service that is available to everyone. All of the bluster about how the PO was losing money hand over fist was because of a law enacted by Congress to prefund a retirement account for 75 years into the future
