Lovely walking around the trails near Olinda and the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden on a cool Spring morning. It’s a pleasure to be out and about with good company. I hope your days are as enjoyable as they can be.

Ancient forest vibes on our walk along the Merri Creek Trail today, with hints of traces of the fey in the form of red coral patches during a very light mist.

Rather enjoying Wilson’s Promontory as Spring starts here in Australia. It’s a good break from the trials and tribulations of the world, a deserved reenergising relief. The weather has been varied and the walking inspirational. A wonderful part of the natural world.

Following reporting of Grok going way further fascist than the Overton widow should ever allow, I've had a quick look at my years old Twitter account to make sure it is still protected and secure, and I found the site lies to visitors to the website about the number of posts I've made. Zero trust.

Winter is here and the leaves are turning and dropping. It’s almost an alien horror view of creeping red tendrils around our neighbourhood.

The sounds of the flowing river is calming.

Stopped by a pebble beach on the river near Mount Beauty.

Walking with beautiful and George, number four of our #hounds, in the cool Autumn breeze. The fall of the leaves, the murmur of the river and the sounds of the birds makes for a pleasant April day here in Australia.

Walking with the last of our #hounds in a fine Autumn fall of leaves. A new place, different from the beach and so beautiful near our new home. Life is pretty good at the moment. I hope it turns out well for all around.

Enjoying a Friday lunch that is just hitting home for me, a raw steak and a good beer on a warm day in Melbourne. Feeling good.

It’s been almost 35 years since last playing Space Hulk. Setting it up again and teaching my best partner the game is taking us back to our early twenties. It’s good to have the time again now the kids are grown up and moved out. We’re testing all the games after moving house and downsizing.

Who am I? A question we might all ask ourselves. For me:

I'm a retired medical physicist specialised in radiation oncology. I was born in South Africa of Irish/Scot/German descent, and am now an Australian citizen. I once worked in Germany as a guest scientist shortly after the wall came down.

A brother by another mother? This is George Feltus, exhausted after a day of lying about, also from South Australia but now anxiously living a new life in Melbourne.

Wow! Congratulations from here in Australia. Thank you for your generosity of time. I remember your visit to Adelaide a few years ago and how Brad was so protective of you as you continued to sign copies well past the end of your talk. Your graphic novel hit home. I hope more people read it.

Catching the penguins on the sandy path to their nests, we were able to get some good viewing. The penguin tour at Low Head was well run.

We had a decent experience viewing the penguins at Low Head last night as they came in to feed their chicks. A beautiful clear night for us and a stellar sunset with Venus near the Moon in the sky. Tasmania has some wonderful scenery.

In trying to stand up after sitting down to look up at lighthouse, I seem to be gesturing on the size of something that is part of some elaborate tale. My knees were creaking and my lovely partner decided to photograph me in distress as I nearly lost balance. I’m just now getting ahead of the story.

Happy New Year everyone. Here’s looking to a brighter future with friends and family around us all. I hope we see a decrease in conflicts around the world this year with just and fair peace for all. We are so lucky living here in Australia. It is the lucky country and I am so fortunate to be here.

Thank you @realjakebroe.bsky.social for everything you do. The badge and note have just arrived. It’s been over a thousand days and we’re still going. I’m so glad there are people like you in the world fighting for justice and fairness, we’re not alone. Love & respect from Australia, Slava Ukraini!

I had a look and the article is still not findable on Google search. I wonder if the first article in the search return has anything to do with it? This lack of accurate returns seems perverse, with data hidden from our internet searches. It feels like gaslighting to me. I’m keen to know more.

Today is the day I have unlocked the next level in being a grandpa. The parents are out of the house and have trusted me with the five weeks old. Better than feline paralysis, though slightly more concern shown.

Breakfast with my son from his perspective, and the dog is a little jealous. Loving the Melbourne life we’ve fund ourselves in.

Enjoying a German Christmas lunch in Australia. Hahndorf has a wonderful atmosphere and some good food that reminds me of my time in Dresden. The beer is good. The pork is great. The sausages are divine.

Enjoying a morning walk just outside our bed and breakfast stay. The geese are guarding the kangaroo family from George our greyhound. They’re doing a good job but George is ever so curious.

Walking with George on Henley Beach, probably for the last time. We’re back in Adelaide just for the weekend before heading to our new home in Melbourne. The last things are done here, and our cat will be picked up tomorrow to join us for the drive home.
