Imagine a world where buffy the vampire slayer bombed. I think the sacrifice would have been worth it?

Letting an AI control your browser is like getting someone to play psdoom but not telling them what it does

I am split between voting green, who represents my beliefs the most accurately, and labour, who represents (in my electorate) the highest chance of stopping someone getting in who represents my beliefs even less then labour currently does.

FPTP sucks.

me, blurry eyed in the morning, waiting for coffee to steep, muttering "epochal" over and over to myself with different intonations and a frustrated look on my face

if they had any shame at all this would be bad optics which they would regret. Alas.

Just hitting 40 hrs and just hit Act 2. I don't know how many acts there are, but interesting to hear I am at absolute best halfway through

I appreciate the post. It helps me with my imposter syndrome. If you can be an econ professor, senior fellow etc with a bunch of published books and still be this wildly wrong and simplistic, and be so confident as to post it to blue sky dot com, I can be anything I set my mind to!

Talking with less experienced users, it seems to be to literally catch people who accept them by accident, because it's really hard for them to work out how to turn them off, and they just accept the random shoe store they went to once has a direct line to their eyeballs

I have chronic RSI, and use talon voice to control my computer, write code etc. The app is great, but I hate that I have to use it. I would much rather be typing. I also do not trust Microsoft to do anything other than dictation, which it can presumably already do

“I’m strong and I want to have like fifty kids and a farm” of course you do. You’re twelve. “I don’t want to eat vegetables I think steak and French fries is the only meal” hell yeah homie you’re twelve. “Maybe if there’s crime we should just send the army” bless your heart my twelve year old buddy

Yes. It's effectively a self report: they think you're doing that because they couldn't imagine any other reason to do it.

All of these briefly trendy alt-right terms have meant this, from DEI being hot right now, all the way back to "white knighting" over a decade ago.

It's really unfortunate. I already have the laptop and don't have plans to upgrade for awhile, so I guess I'll see how it pans out. But I ain't supporting that.

Tom Waits it's still kicking too. Plenty of choices

I understand your point, but vibe engineering sounds worse! It sounds like you are, instead of just letting an LLM write all the code for you, you're letting it design the architecture as well.

"Vibe" is a linguistic burnt bridge, we need to move on from it.
