I've been working on anatomy and poses this past year, and I'd like to think I've improved somewhat--So, I think it's time for me to focus on these three issues in my art.

If you come across this post, feel free to offer advice if you wanna! I'm open to criticism!

3. Composition:

Color theory is something I've NEVER studied, but another weaknesses of mine is that, I don't plan out my color values.

Dark on dark, bright on bright--It makes the subject of these pieces blend in, and as a result, there's s lack of focus in my pieces.

--flat.

This will naturally improve as I gain an understanding of drawing in 3D, but alot of it is also that I don't plan the background out in advance, so it's like a separate drawing slapped below another.

--this is most certainly my most immediate place to start.

2. Composting:

I don't enjoy backgrounds, and this is because I lack a proper understanding of how to fit my subject in a 3D space. My backgrounds and characters feel like they're on two separate plains, which adds to the piece feeling--

1 - Understanding 3D:

I think my biggest flaw overall, is my lack of depth in my art. It all feels flat, and I assume that's because I don't imagine the shape or scene in 3D.

I just need to buckle up and REALLY start drawing in 3D, but the process bores me--Yet, if I ever want to improve--

Art is a hobby for me, it isn't something I ever intend to do professionally, as a result, I don't really mind if I grow as an artist or not--But, for fun, I figure there's no harm in setting long term goals for myself by recognizing flaws in my recent pieces.

This one is loosely based off an old piece from 2015--These two are some of my first characters!
