Courtney Corey-Armstrong, a master’s student in musical theatre, researched the integration of emotional intelligence into the practice of acting, providing a framework for actors to enhance preparation, specificity, and authenticity.

Prof. Stephen Brotebeck, who was most recently serving as Interim Director, has officially been named permanent Director of the School!

Additionally, Dr. Katie Turner, a Lecturer in our school and past Major Advisor for Theatre, will serve as TTF’s first Assistant Director.

Martha Lauzen, executive director of the Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film at SDSU, analyzed the top 250 highest-grossing films of 2024. According to a new report she has authored, the gender gap has widened.

Broadway actor, director, choreographer and San Diego State University visiting artist Josh Walden saw the premiere of “A New Brain” off-broadway at Lincoln Center in 1998. Now, Walden is directing the show on SDSU’s Prebys Stage Wed. Dec. 4 - Sun. Dec. 8.
