Saikat Chakrabarti, one of the most talented young political leaders in the country, has set his sights high for the 2026 midterms. I predict he will win.

My friend Chris Smalls was the only black man among the 20 activists on the @freedomflotilla.bsky.social. He also appears to be the only passenger violently assaulted by Israeli forces after those on the boat were abducted before they could deliver life-saving aid to starving children in Gaza.

I used a predictive model to conclude the actual death toll in Gaza is way higher than the media is reporting. As of July 21, Israel had killed ~434,000 people, or 20.7% of Gaza’s entire pre-conflict population.

Equivalent to 70M people dead in the US.

I am deeply honored to present the amazing @mikaelaloach.bsky.social as the first guest on my podcast Donziger on Justice.

I asked Mikaela if she thought the climate crisis could be addressed in a capitalist framework. She flat-out said, "No."

Thrilled to meet with a climate justice leader whom I’ve long admired. @mikaelaloach.bsky.social’s amazing book It's Not That Radical just hit the US market.

I’m inspired by Mikaela and so many young leaders of her generation who are building the power we need to create the just society we deserve.

🧵: One of the most inspiring medical doctors in the U.S. @rupamarya.bsky.social just sued the hell out of the largest hospital system in San Francisco for violating her free speech rights after she condemned Israel over its atrocities in Gaza. This is a major test for free speech & academic freedom.

The US Supreme Court is being devoured by a monster of its own creation. After the Court granted the President immunity, Trump is now openly mocking a 9-0 decision that a man mistakenly abducted into a gulag in El Salvador be brought home.

The rule of law is dying because our high court is failing.

Meet the seven brilliant student-scholars disappeared off the streets of the US by the Trump Administration for criticizing Israel’s atrocities in Gaza. Four are being held in brutal for-profit ICE detention centers in Louisiana. None are charged with a crime.

Free them now. ⤵️

BREAKING: In a deeply unfair trial, the Energy Transfer pipeline company won a $700m verdict against Greenpeace today in North Dakota over phantom
“damages” from the Standing Rock protests.

This is an attack on Indigenous peoples, the climate movement, and the right to protest. ⤵️

Energy Transfer’s bogus SLAPP case in North Dakota against
@greenpeace.org took a stunning turn today during closing arguments when the company more than doubled its damages claim to $800 million.

This a full-scale attack on the climate movement — and an absolute outrage. 👊👊⤵️⤵️

Tomorrow begins closing arguments in what has been a deeply flawed and in my opinion corrupt trial against Greenpeace, orchestrated by Energy Transfer and its billionaire Chairman Kelcy Warren. Stay engaged with the latest developments at trialmonitors.org🙏👊👊👊

In court today in New York with @susansarandon.bsky.social to support Columbia grad student and human rights defender Mahmoud Kahlil. Mahmoud was illegally arrested by ICE for criticizing Israel over its human rights violations — a clear violation of the free speech.

Release him now.👊👊⤵️⤵️

BREAKING: The ICE arrest of a distinguished Columbia University grad student is part of an all-out assault on progressive speech taking place in academia under pressure from Trump. Columbia is so cowed it just facilitated the possible illegal deportation of its own student.

Despicable ⤵️

Energy Transfer's SLAPP trial against Greenpeace is shrouded in secrecy. Our Trial Monitoring Committee has just filed multiple emergency petitions before the North Dakota Supreme Court demanding a public livestream of the trial proceedings. Visit trialmonitors.org for the latest.

Just got word from inside the Biden team that I will not be receiving a pardon — and that Chevron lawyers were working overtime to try to kill my request despite 34 members of Congress backing me.

Mark my words: our pardon campaign and fight for justice will continue.👊👊

A stunning 34 members of the U.S. Congress - including @aoc.bsky.social, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Rep. Jim McGovern - have sent a letter to Biden calling on him to pardon me after I was targeted by Chevron with the nation’s first corporate prosecution. Grateful.

A US-made rocket fired by Israel slices through a building in Beirut in a video recently posted online. If an arrest warrant can issue for Netanyahu, what about those who help finance these awful attacks that kill thousands of civilians?

Should the ICC target them too? ⤵️

I am convinced that the Democratic Party in the US as we know it needs to be completely restructured if we are to create the kind of just society we deserve.

BREAKING: In a huge win for human rights, a jury in Virginia awarded $42 million to three detainees over torture they suffered two decades ago at the hands of the US army at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Juries are one of the last bastions of justice in the US. ⤵️
