Mykle Hunter of SonicsChannel founded Tails' Channel. That's where it got its name.
October 24, 2025 at 2:28 AM
pleased to announce that @tailschannel.com is once again a major market television station again lol
October 23, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Of course! The Sonic films will continue to make bank and that likely won't change. For some people, that's all they care about.

But Sonic also benefits a lot from Paramount Global's entire media portfolio, as the thread suggests. How Skydance intends to maintain it is an open question.

that was a collab with a nascar driver, not directly with a major automaker

speed battle (but, it's officially called sonic forces)

Certainly looks like they removed the webpage now. But they do have some artwork scattered across other platforms. www.artstation.com/artwork/DxDGZG

no where did this post directly claim it was a "professional poster," and the idea of it looking "professional" is irrelevant to the point of the post.

It's a thanksgiving poster made by a third party that was officially signal boosted by Paramount.

Looking back at this and... still slightly confused by what you said? I... don't think the post was implying what you think it was, especially with the context after the fact.
January 20, 2025 at 7:05 AM
thanks, but I don't think it's much to congratulate about!

it just...sucks to talk about this from my perspective, and I'm sorry to hear that you had to deal with type of harassment from others before.
January 20, 2025 at 6:59 AM
to that end, TC not reporting it would've not changed a thing - it would've been documented either way, but that's not to say that the harrassment that IDW staff get were justified. it's gross, but saying its TC's fault is wild when I've been subjected to similar language. I don't even work for IDW!
January 20, 2025 at 6:35 AM
Not only did TC got Stanley's explicit written approval to report that tidbit, but she was completely fine for us to follow up b/c we actually cared to contact her ahead of time to avoid what you're seemingly telegraphing.

It was sites like Stadium who reported it first w/o any due diligence.
January 20, 2025 at 6:26 AM
sorry! I suppose I'm not in a great mood (which isn't your fault), but I'm not receiving your critique very well when I know TC had nothing to do with your exaggerated claim.
January 20, 2025 at 6:24 AM
hey... I remember you! Still giving Tails' Channel superpowers that they don't have?
January 20, 2025 at 6:07 AM
next month (5 feb) afaik, but idw and the distributors can change these dates at any time lol

that's because it is a photoshop job

Okay.

So if you're mad about official game screenshots that the developers wants you to see, and you think that's a spoiler, than don't get all rude to a fan account that has no ability to address your issue. They're only doing their job.

These are SEGA's promo images that they forwarded to every press member as part of their review process. They want people to see it, and removing TailsChannel (or anyone) from the equation wouldn't change a thing.

Also, quite melodramatic given that this is not the first time SEGA has done this!
October 22, 2024 at 2:06 AM
These are SEGA's images that were sent to the press, not TailsChannel's.

The fact that SEGA selected these images highly implies that they want to *you* see it, which is the point. lol
October 22, 2024 at 12:11 AM
It's not necessarily a new thing too, broadly speaking. The company openly benefitted from the existence of fan-run outlets.

and even if, say, all the TailsChannels of the world suddenly vanished, that's not going to stop your average fan with a big following? It'll just be a lot more shameless.
September 22, 2024 at 4:32 AM
Hi, and it's totally fine! haha

Assuming SOA or SOE fills in the gaps for the west (which they can in theory), I'm not sure if it's possible to not have a 3rd party in between, if I understood you right?
September 22, 2024 at 4:32 AM
SEGA's really doubling down on Sonic's globality, though? Sonic Team is travelling across multiple cities in Asia soon, so fan outlets aside, I'm not sure if the global enthusiasm for Sonic Channel can be necessarily mended?

I'm curious to know if you have an idea.
September 22, 2024 at 1:51 AM
But yeah, handling stuff like that can be tricky for a fan outlet. TC manages it more responsibly now, but there's always room for improvement.

Also, I think Sonic Channel is going to be okay! It's an important pillar for int'l outreach, and they'll need the site as X wanes into irrelevancy lol
September 22, 2024 at 1:14 AM
That's why they have a SNS policy and an on-site translator. They want all people to visit sonic.sega.jp, not to get lost on a fan profile with no linkback.

TailsChannel were the first to acknowledge it. I've seen other outlets who not only ignored SOJ's wishes, but mocked fans who criticized them.
