The majority of Black voters live in red states. Most red states are actually purple but GOP state legislatures have overly gerrymandered districts & do all kinds of voter suppression tactics.

I’ve been reminding my reps that what is happening is NOT popular with Republicans or Democrats. Like sure I am hair on fire angry but their base doesn’t support billionaires raiding Medicare and throwing out the Dept of Ed either.

Many people can’t afford to get arrested for tons of reasons (kids, jobs). Having a vocal presence is still important though. It lets people in power know that we are angry and it isn’t ok. My call to my Republican reps isn’t going to move the needle but if there are enough they won’t get relelectwd

I plan to call daily. It takes five-10 minutes depending on if you get someone to answer vs leaving a voicemail. (Info for anyone who thinks there isn’t time).

I’ve called my senators and congressman today. Thousands upon thousands are protesting right now. We are doing things. We’re just complaining too.
