Fighting games and jrpgs for the most part. Learning japanese, messing with godot occasionally
The trip was a blast though. Went with 2 of my best online friends who I've known for half my life now. We went from to Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya, Shuzenji, and then ended the trip back in Tokyo. Not even sure what to say for the individual things we did cause we actually just did so much

I was mounting some stuff pretty much right under where the main power line comes into my house so I was a little extra cautious. In general I'm also just ultra cautious

I think a lot of it comes down to learning to prevent those scenarios from occurring. Our local scene does replay review and we don't focus much on players making incorrect guesses on defense, and we analyze what happened to make those situations come up in the first place. It takes time to learn

man seeing corners get cut like this does a good job of surfacing how much effort goes into something that i never appreciated like yeah i guess it must be hard having each possible match up pose and animated for a super but also, its important and fighting games have been doing it for some time now

I think once you learn specific optimized things, it’ll let you do vibes based things around them. For example with safe jumps, you can establish you’re doing them, then do an empty jump into a low or throw. After learning the rules, you learn how you can break them. Kinda like art in a way
