The club was granted “enhanced capital allowances,” which allowed them to claim back a significant portion of the tax paid on the construction of the stadium. The value of these incentives was estimated to be around £70 million.

He isn't. If you actually read the proposed plan you'll see that the stadium is not being financed by tax payers. The council land around it is being government funded because the local council owns it. Were you this outraged at Arsenal and Spurs being given government funding for their stadiums?

Perhaps it was due to administration. My own grandparents came to London from Belfast but had Irish on their birth certificates. Anyway, a quick Google is always useful for UK/GB classification.

The UK and Britain are not the same thing. The UK includes Northern Ireland, Britain does not.

Strange. It should technically state Irish. Northern Ireland isn't part of Britain. Britain only encompasses Wales, Scotland and England.

And yet it's the Canadian government who paid reparations and not the British or French governments.

Canada is part of that history and are far from clean yourselves. Forced relocation of Inuits, killed sled dogs so they were unable to collect food and essentially starved to death in some cases and forced location based serial numbers onto them. Please don't act like your county is squeaky clean.

The majority of those angry are all anti royalists anyway. So why the ire? Canadians want to leave? Have a referendum and leave. Simple.

He can't say no because his role dictates that he must always retain a sense of neutrality. It's been the law since 1685 that the Monarch cannot publicly show favour to one nation in a political dispute. I once thought Canadians incredibly nice people, I've seen a different side this week.

I'm well aware of current events relating to my own county (UK) and the way our government works.. Again, the invite is from Parliament who notify the King that they have set this up. The Monarch merely carries out his job by cosigning a pre written letter and meeting with the current President.

It's not that he's being strategic, it's because by UK Parliamentary law he's not permitted to speak publicly about it. Cromwell, as Lord Protector, revoked any future Monarch's right to voice their political opinion after King Charles II died in 1685.
March 3, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Incorrect. It is the UK Foreign Office on behalf of the Prime Minster who requests the Monarch meet with newly elected Heads of State regardless of whether they have already held office. It seems you're unaware of how the UK government operates.

No British monarch has been allowed to comment publicly on political situations since the death of King Charles II in 1685. Cromwell, as Lord Protector, revoked any future Monarch's right to voice their political opinion via Parliamentary law. KCIII can't say anything publicly.
