When teachers and admin start looking the other way, like in the halls and cafeteria, there is still a struggle to keep kids off phones in the classroom.

For the 5 high schools I serve, it’s a mixed bag. Where teachers and admin commit to take visible phones (temporarily), it is going really well. Teachers say students are actually interested and will to have conversations.

New SC law banning cell phones in schools - starts in January. But districts are left to figure out how to make it work. It's a big lift.
