Mike Johnson all “I’m sorry, my dear. Wish I could help…. it’s not constitutional”…. Like it immediately made we think of Disney villians who the audience knows is evil but the protagonist of the story thinks is trustworthy.

We “convene” all the time in online spaces now and in so have the ability to keep alive the framers’ intentions. It’s unfair to the constituents represented by the new parents. It’s unfair to the rep and their loved ones to enforce such a meaningless standard when we have a clear option to allow it.

It makes total sense.

This is because the framers said the vote should require convening in person. Presumably this not arbitrary rule, but to optimize how decisions are reached so that conversion and debate could be held up until the vote. So that all the information available could be considered by our representatives.
