But you also doubt whether *anyone else* will believe you and whether they will act if they do.

This obviously not only crushes your mental health and ability to form relationships of all kinds, but also leaves you open to abuse and further bullying as an adult.

These two things in combination mean you struggle to identify when you’re being treated badly. You question whether it’s really as bad as you think and feel like a paranoid bastard for feeling attacked.

Thing 1:
“You’re being over sensitive. They didn’t *mean* to hurt your feelings, you just need to toughen up.”
Thing 2:
“They are being mean on purpose but you deserve it because you’re weird.” (I wish that was less paraphrased than it is).
