Ignoring the atrocities committed by the extremist ideological leadership in Iran on the premise of "they've been around for thousands of years" is a cruel and inhuman position to hold. Women are being treated like subhumans there.

I think the idea of having our politicians "not speak to the other side" needs to end.
We firmly believe in our positions and should not be afraid of hearing ppl with opposing views who can provide their welcome criticism (which we use to strengthen our arg). Otherwise who are we trying to kid?

Why lose thousands tho? Newsome made his points clear. We shouldn't be afraid of speaking with ppl on the other side of politics - our positions, like Newsomes, should be able to withstand any criticism otherwise who are we trying to kid?
