Doge has said it is going to convert the 30 year old COBOL system using AI - actually parts of it are probably closer to 60 years old. This verges on criminal incompetence. COBOL is a business language which has been around for 80 years. Who has ever done this with any AI?

What could go wrong? Payroll is one of the oldest systems ever written on any computer anywhere. So, yeah, bring in a bunch of children to rewrite it, who have never gotten any closer to a payroll system than receiving their check. Yep, they are people I would ask first.
