property ownership at least nowadays seems kinda scammy. i guess they're doing it because of the promise of equity that they can draw upon but unless it's some sort of veblen good bullshit like nyc real estate(i still don't get the prices i see in the bx of all places) ehhhhhhhh

like ppl pay college amount of money to send their kids to private schools that don't even have anyone with a significant wikipedia page maybe like eight paragraphs at most.

that's the sad part. all of this is done so that their kids can do the same thing.

all of this is to perpetuate being an upper middle class loser with no swag lol. i don't know if you need to go into that much debt to move sideways and be a moderately wealthy herb.

also in a nice neighborhood in an east coast city they can rent a decent apartment for the cost of that mortgage and not have to worry about property taxes. the mortgage is ultimately to pay for college but they can probably get a state rate at a flagship public school 🤷🏽‍♂️

also i live in a walkable city(shout out to the menswear guy) so that i dont have to worry about a car note or gas
