Katsuki only stared up at his former teacher.

Aizawa sighed before reaching a hand out. “C’mon Bakugo, we’re going back to my place. It’s almost dawn.”

Katsuki reluctantly took his hand and wordlessly followed.

Katsuki’s eyes couldn’t focus on the figure, but knew they were familiar as they stood over him.

“Jesus problem child, what happened?” Aizawa’s familar glower faded into concern.

It wasn’t until he heard the thud of boots nearby that Katsuki turned his head in the direction. He tried to summon up anger or courage or even his usual cocky self. Instead he only stared, feeling nothing but dull.

He didn’t know how long he stayed in that alley. He had stopped crying a while ago, the tear tracks staining his face caught the wind, making him shiver.

He should get out of the cold. He knew that. When he tried to even lift a finger, however, every bone in his body refused to move.

He wished this were just a quirk. Even better, just a horrible dream. At least there would be an end in sight to this horrible pain.

Instead, with every heartbeat, the pain surged deeper and grew more powerful. It felt like the stitches in his heart were coming undone.

He was a fucking wreck. Who was he now? They were supposed to chase each other to the end.

“Son of a bitch!” He kicked a dumpster, the clatter echoed in the alley. Katsuki slumped against the brick wall as tears slowly built to sobs.

“Kid.” Katsuki could feel a familiar knot tie itself in his throat. “Leave.”

He waited for his steps to fade away into the night before the tears finally came.

“It’s just—Dynamight. Um— I know I’m just a newbie and sidekick. I just…” Katsuki could hear the nervous movement of his shoes. “We’re here for you. If you need us, sir. We’re here to help.”

The fucking nerve. The audacity. This…this…god why were his stupid eyes watering?

God. Who was he kidding. He couldn’t even look at the kid without thinking of /him/.

So, he kept his back to him. “Well? Spit it out.”

This sidekick was relatively new to the hero scene. Actually, he was fresh out of UA. Katsuki scouted him at the sports festival for his heroic performance and smile. The curly hair and green eyes were a coincidence. Especially the mildly shy demeanor.

Before Katsuki could leave himself, one of the idiots called to him. “Um. Dynamight?”

Katsuki cursed under his breath, “What. Did you already forget where the station is?”

What a fucking week he’s had.

“Shut up! All of you!” Katsuki growls as he throws the villain at one of his sidekicks. “Take him to the police station. I’ll see if there’s any others.”

“Uh—Yes Dynamight.” One of them grasped the villain’s shoulders and gently guided them away.

The villain hesitantly reached up and gave Katsuki a small pat on the shoulder. “My quirk is heartbreak. It causes people to experience heartbreak. But it had no effect on you…meaning…”

Katsuki heard one of the extras gasp, while one of them murmured, “Oh Dyna…”

The villain stopped in their tracks before seeming to look…sad? “Oh buddy…”

Now Katsuki’s extr—sidekicks were looking at the two strangely. None of them look as confused as Katsuki himself. He grabbed the villain by the collar and shook them, “What did you do?”
