Canada has similar deposits available right now for those same companies. No security forces required. But no investment. Why? Because heavy oil is a poor investment unless oil is >$100/bbl. Cost of production is high, even after the rebuilding. The only way Exxon is going to VZ is with taxpayer $$

I think this was a trial run to see how easily they could decapitate the leader of a country. Now Trump will be emboldened to do this in Cuba, Panama, Greenland. He literally said it is the “Don”roe Doctrine. The US will be the leader and police of North, Central, South America and the Caribbean.

Totally agree. They are carving up the world into 4 chunks with those three controlling their respective areas and China gets all the Asia/Pacific territory. This looks more and more like a game of Risk.

Unless you live and work in the Netherlands it’s hard to comprehend the vastness and efficiency of the cycling network and infrastructure. When I was there, I had a car…left it parked at my office for road trips to Belgium or Germany, and rode my bike 95% of my work days and 100% of my off days.

When I travel to the US and see bike lanes on 40mph and up roads…they are unsurprisingly empty. How the fuck are you supposed to get on and off this lane? The crazy speeds allowed even in suburbs make walking or biking so dangerous. I get that Maryland isn’t The Netherlands, but some compromise?

Cops are understanding when a bike is stolen, but they will do NOTHING to help. My e-bike was stolen in Calgary and posted for sale in Edmonton. Police said “not much we can do”. I just had to walk away. A vigilante baseball bat pummelling would have made me feel better tho.
