Now is the time for a new Champions of Norrath game.
9. Demon's Souls
I still think Demon's Souls is the superior souls game, even the original. It feels really good to play, and every boss is more of a fun puzzle to solve. Old King Allant boss was cinema, 100% recommend. I didn't get to experience any online stuff tho because I don't have PS+. 9/10

8. Dark Souls
Despite feeling clunky, it was fun up until the exact halfway point. Honestly, Blighttown and Anor Londo were my favorite sections. Everything from Duke's archives to Catacombs were kinda straight buns and Bed of Chaos just killed any fun I was having. 7.25/10

7. Oblivion Remaster
One thing that always kept me from replaying Oblivion is how ugly and uncanny valley it was, but the remaster looks incredible while keeping the same iconic Oblivion jank. It feels like a proper video game RPG where something like skyrim felt a little watered down. 9/10

6. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
It's a clear love letter to JRPGs and French culture. It takes aspects from a thousand other games and makes it something wholly unique. The characters, setting, themes, tones, music, and gameplay are all sublime except for gestral beach volleyball. 10/10

5. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse
This one was a Wii exclusive and you can tell while playing. there's some jank controls, and it can get frustrating when ghosts just hide in the walls, but the story is very good, and it isn't total junpscare island so that's a good thing. 8.1/10

4. Monster Hunter Wilds
I played a couple MH games in the oast and they never gripped me, but this one does. It looks great, plays great, sound design is best in class. There's just a lot of following people and getting exposition dumped, and I aggressively didn't care about Nata. 9/10

3. VVVVVV
Incredible little platformer I've had for over a decade but for some reason I never actually finished it. Plays great on the steam deck and getting all the collectibles is insanely difficult. 10/10

2. Street Fighter 6
I bought it when it came out but I never finished world tour. Now that Mai's coming out, I went back and finished it. Really cool story mode, but got kinda grindy. I'll always support story modes in fighting games tho so 8/10 for world tour and 9/10 for the whole of the game.

1. Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered. Says 'remaster' but it's basically a straight port of a ps3 game. It has no FOV setting, no graphics settings, it's janky to play, and has the same bugs from 13 years ago, and I loved every bit of it. 9/10 one of my favorite 7/10 games ever.

20 games finished in 2024. Pretty good considering there's some long ones in there. Also I did finish Shadow of the Erdtree as well when I played through Elden Ring

I rolled credits on Silent Hill 2 Remake today, and nobody is more shocked than I to find that, despite some minor gripes and technical issues, Bloober team cooked on this one. Definitely worth getting, and potentially my game of the year
