I recommend dropping by molegato's or voxid's streams instead ^^ you'll definitely learn a thing or two there. And get yourself the texel density checker if you'd like your pixel size to remain consistent. What kind of helped me was thinking of the individual UVs like puzzle pieces

Take it easy ( ´・・)ノ(_ _ ;) I usually make a rough texture/sketch in blender then take it to any other software that has a working pixel brush for clean up, saves a little headache
