The program covers such topics as budgeting; strategic planning; managing staff; and equity and inclusion. The knowledge and skills I gain through Ready to ED will hopefully benefit myself and so many people whom my work will touch.

Happy birthday to the President who still inspires me! I'm honored to be an alum of the Obama campaigns and Organizing for Action. His internal campaign motto - “respect, empower, include” - is a good starting point for us to chart our way back to a healthy democracy.

As a battleground, it's natural to have some One Campaign staff from out of state - but Michiganders know Michigan best. If each office has at least Michigander on staff, they can help their teammates from out of state understand what's unique about the area.

This goes back to showing we care.

Dems are often rightly accused of only coming to a community when it's time to ask for their votes.

Coalitions work often takes place within the context of the One Campaign, with directors being hired during the election year. Let's make it a year-round thing.

Fewer than 1% of regular Democratic voters in Michigan are MDP members.

The MDP must actively encourage all Democrats to join the MDP.

And while you can join the MDP without paying, many donate at least a little - so when we ask them to level up their membership, we’re helping fundraising.

MDP rules provide for three standing committees, and the DNC requires us to stand up an affirmative action committee during the National Convention delegate selection process. Let’s have an open process for folks who want to join these and other committees the Chair creates.

We have to do more to ensure Michigan's needs are known at a high level within the Party. This is especially important as the DNC considers whether Michigan will again be an early primary state in 2028.

Having an MDP Director of Party Affairs was very helpful for me as a district and caucus chair.

it’s hard for me to think about MDP comms post-2022 without my blood boiling. I’ll just say this: We have to fix both our message itself *and* the ways we disseminate it.

"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

Do Dems care about ordinary people? Yes. But do people think we care about them? No.

The Democratic Party’s approval rating has sunk to 31%.

This problem goes way beyond just the MDP, but it is a communications problem.

one of the most impactful Vice Presidents ever; the most successful President, policy-wise, of my lifetime; and a true statesman in every sense of that word:

Thank you, Mr. President.
