It could’ve been a good pilot program

if it showed the market for 1st time owner/ starter homes was there, it could be tweaked into a “new home building incentive thing” that might mitigate that issue

Better than nothing

But adding more supply of first time homes whether houses, infills, duplex, quadplex, apartments, etc doesn’t necessarily lower value across the board

It makes entry level housing more affordable

If you get equity into it, not just pay interest, that’s good leverage for possible next buy

As many note it's a Canada-wide thing (perhaps now more so because of the stay-in-canada tourism jump?).

Minus the flights, travelling in, say, Japan and Europe has been cheaper than Canada over the last few years (accommodation, food, etc).
