Omaha #NoKings Rally biggest one yet this year and filled with emergent energy. You can sense a realignment of coalitions within American politics. It’s a great platform for human connection. People making clever signs, dressing up in costumes, singing songs, telling stories on stage, etc.

The big takeaway from reading The Revolt of the Public and watching 2025 unfold:
The elites have given up trying to earn authority from the public and are willing to sacrifice the public using their disproportionate wealth to weather the shitstorm while the masses suffer and perish.

Spent the day helping @ehendo.bsky.social and all the campaign volunteers for @katmabu.bsky.social spread the word at the Main Street Fair in Evanston. I got to meet Kat and she’s even nicer in person. Strong candidate who knows how to fight the radical right and is already helping people in need.

Just finished this amazing book. It follows the first person narratives of people who survived. You will see the power of the modern police state (what ICE wants to become) and the hope and enduring flame of humanity from those who experienced it.

The backstop is that once the structure is obsolete, you can redevelop it into a mixed-use district like Omaha is doing with the Civic Auditorium block. Brief home of the KC/Omaha Kings before they moved to BallSac.
