Very quiet day at Southfield Res. A couple of Hobbies went south, a Common Sand and 200+ hirundines were the highlights.

I wasn't expecting to see much at Spurn last week with northerlies every day but ended up seeing 2 Cranes, Red-backed-shrike, Black Brant, Eastern Subalpine Warbler, Golden Oriole, Firecrest, Red-backed Shrike and Purple Sandpiper #SpurnBirds #YorkshireBirding

They are probably fairly common down south but I was chuffed to bits to get this while out for a walk in the South Downs on a non-birding weekend away. The recording has me swearing quite a bit so I’ve just posted a screenshot #ukbirding

Not a bad day at the local patches. Unexpected Iceland Gull at Potteric Carr and Goosander at Parson's Carr (fka iPort Lakes). Also picked up my first Whitethroat, Sedge and Reed Warblers of the year #YorkshireBirding #phonescoped

Numerous lunchtime visits to the iPort have finally paid off. Fortunately these 3 Little Gulls sat on the water most of the time so I could phonescope them. #YorkshireBirding #LowCarbonBirding

Whoopers have been taking advantage of the fine weather and piling through the Doncaster area since the early hours of the morning. These were within walking distance of home. #LowCarbonBirding #YorkshireBirding #UKBirding

Got my first #NocMig Common Scoters of the year last night at 21:43 and 01:04. Also @chirpity-nocmig.bsky.social picked out some Wigeon at 03:17 buried in the dawn chorus that I would never have picked up by eye in Audacity. #UKBirding

Wow thanks for this. Its a bit of a game changer. I reviewed last night's recording with Audacity and then tried Chirpity. Its easy to use and fast.

One’s been at Doncaster Lakeside all winter with the Mutes. Gratefully receiving bread from the public. And it can fly. Its quite aggressive towards the Mutes. 📷 taken with phone.
