Stock market takes enormous dive obviously in reaction to tariffs, but you have to scroll down THIRTEEN other headlines on the Fox News website before finding any sign of it. A trans athlete controversy in FENCING is ten headlines higher than the stock market crash.

Not a good look for Biden, not helpful in the fight to preserve democratic norms. I think we can acknowledge this and at the same time laugh at outraged MAGAs who can’t see the irony.
"The president’s unconditional love for his son is admirable and relatable. But the good of the nation requires that President Biden put aside his feelings."

A lot of people suddenly concerned about corruption and nepotism tonight, after months of normalizing and sanewashing it.

This sort of democratic backsliding, where Republicans seek to overturn the effect of an election by reallocating powers away from positions they have lost, has become almost routine now. But it should remain shocking.
Heads up:

North Carolina Republicans just voted to strip the state's incoming Democratic governor and attorney general of key powers — passing a sweeping bill before the GOP most likely loses its veto-proof supermajority in the Legislature next year.

Threads is an echo chamber on the left, Twitter on the Right, I hope this stays a sane normal place where some disagreement can be politely explored. Too much to ask??

Is it just the echo chamber or are there surprisingly few journalists exploring sexism as a factor in the election outcome? I know it’s more complex than one factor, but I’m surprised I don’t read more about sexism having played a role here. Small sample size maybe, but his only wins were vs women.
Democratic women see a country that is ‘not ready for a woman president’

Post-election hot take I’m getting really sick of: Dems don’t stand for anything, just anti-Trump. Such a B.S. take - Dem party is and has long been pro-democracy, pro-climate action, pro-choice, pro-trade, pro-infrastructure investment, pro-education, pro-affordable healthcare, pro-LGBTQ rights…
