This sort of democratic backsliding, where Republicans seek to overturn the effect of an election by reallocating powers away from positions they have lost, has become almost routine now. But it should remain shocking.

Is it just the echo chamber or are there surprisingly few journalists exploring sexism as a factor in the election outcome? I know it’s more complex than one factor, but I’m surprised I don’t read more about sexism having played a role here. Small sample size maybe, but his only wins were vs women.
