All forms of media should stop referring to Trump’s tariffs as a “35% tariff on ______” and instead call them a “35% tax on Americans buying ______ goods” or a “ 15% tax on Americans buy______goods so we are all reminded constantly of what these really are.

This is a group of AmeriCorps volunteers in Muskegon, MI who just learned that their program funding has been cut by DOGE. They are all being sent home at the end of this week, seven months before their program was supposed to end.

1) For many products there is no US industry to supply.
2) Where there is US supply, there is no capacity to ramp up.
3) Only an idiot would build a new factory in the US based on tariffs; the future is too uncertain.
4) Demands will exceed supply, prices will rise
