“Of all the billionaires who could have acquired a stake in TikTok, Murdoch has what is probably the least transparent and most extreme political agenda. It’s not hard to guess what kind of political content will be amplified, and what will be censored.”

My generation had a chance of escaping the Murdoch grip. Then Rupert bought TikTok
Unlike a newspaper or subscription TV, social media isn’t seen as inherently biased. Now, TikTok could creep to one side of politics without us noticing.

Visited the Sir David Stirling memorial today near his family home in Dunblane.

For those of you watching SAS Heroes or who have ever heard of him I recommended visiting the site if you can.

The council aren’t lighting it up at night but it allowed me to get a great shot of the man himself.

After 30 years of using Apple I have to say that the latest updates are the single most boring thing I’ve seen Apple do.

They are no longer a visionary or innovative company. Just a numbers factory for Tim Cook.

Boring as all fuck.

OnlyFans paid $148m in UK tax last year.
Google paid just £128m in the same period.

One is a London-based platform with creators posting from their bedrooms.
The other hoovers up ~£20bn in UK ad spend… then books most of it in Ireland.

Hmm, sounds weird considering Google earns 20x+

Hey Australia, can you take these two fannies back please.

Not a fan of them smashing up our heritage sites. This is Ruthven Barracks. Heritage Jacobite rebellion site.

My theory is that some of the most dangerous people in America are smart, introverted techies who never understood why anyone majored in the liberal arts in college, graduated college and began reading and misunderstanding texts liberal arts majors were taught to read properly, and became fascists.

The reactionary blogger’s call for a monarch to rule the country once seemed like a joke. Now the right is ready to bend the knee.

Enjoying how the AFR says you can't tax unrealised capital gains in super balances over $3m because it is not real money, and yet boasts about all the unrealised gains of the richest 200

He always ends up telling you what he has been doing. In this case admitting to protecting Putin…

A machete ban will do fuck all.

Invest in community policing and educating the youth on the damage knife crime can do. Bring in knife victims and show how their lives have been fucked etc.

Gentle reminder that this was written three years ago and not last week.

And yet the same stuff keeps being spouted by them. They don’t seem to want to listen about the problem.

This is for all the Star Wars haters and especially those who hate Kathleen Kennedy

She has produced so many amazing shows and movies and is a legend. I despise the hatred of her out there.

I’m guessing this isn’t Samantha Maiden’s original edit but the sub did a terrible job.

If they are going to call community independent candidates 'C200 backed' then surely they also have to call LNP candidates and members 'Gina Rinehart backed'.

Surely - that's only fair?

Also - community independents are mostly community backed #auspol

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.
