The interplay of light and environment is always fascinating to me. A filtered shadow play through reflected light coming through blooming roses came into this house this morning.

Outside Vaasa, Finland is this row of markers showing the way the land has risen over the last 4 centuries. Since the retreat of the last ice age, the land has been slowly lifting out of the water. Just another way landscape constantly changes.

Some dolphins feeding (?) just off Newcastle beach, #Australia last week. This group is often in the same area through the middle of the day, in varying numbers, providing a welcome sight from the clifftop above.

The urban landscape provides a lot of chances to see city wildlife. One night where ravens, flying foxes, and parrots were out in numbers, this peewee and his magpie friend watched on from their high perches.

These remain my favourite @stephenking.bsky.social books by far. As time goes by, they (sadly) become somehow more prophetic.

Being in the #landscape reveals ongoing changes and the history of that landscape. In #Finland, #granite outcrops can be seen scoured by the #glaciers that moved across the region during the last ice age, usually in the same direction.

Urban wildlife, shot during a night shift. This little fellow engaged in actively breaking down a lost jellybean. I admired his energy.

A chunk of #moss in the #Westfjords. Moss is found all over the country in abundance, sometimes centimetres thick over jagged rock. Surely it plays an important part in the evolution of the landscape of #Iceland?
