I went a decade only reading web pages before I found myself at a mall with a few hours to kill and grabbed a mass market paperback copy of "Foundation." That immediately reignited my passion for long form reading. I mostly read ebooks now (I'm the problem) but I have great reverence for the MMPB.

Internet says they cost $2.13 billion per craft, averaging out the total program cost!

I don't have a ton of interest in military tech these days, but color me extremely jealous! Only 19 of those in service, out of 21 ever manufactured. A rare sight, indeed!

I'm nearly thru "Ancestral Night" by Elizabeth Bear and now I'm torn between continuing her "White Space" series, "Angel Maker," or continuing "The Crowns of Ishia" as my next read. Plus a dozen other great recommendations here that I need to consider based on your excellent track record. Too much!

The profit margin on used gear is definitely a plus for Fuji (as long as you already have the gear to sell!) I've never had my hands on an X100 series camera, But the X-F10 is a great GR alternative. Glad you found a camera that you love!

Nice! I took a long look at the GR III (and IIIx) when I was shopping for a small camera a few years back. I ended up with the Fuji because I'm so bought into the Fuji X and because I got a killer deal, but the Ricohs look like great cameras!

Very nice! If there isn't a central leg hidden underneath already, I think that would help handle the burden of that massive TV. I'm no physicist, but I've never regretted hiding a central leg for additional stability against flexing. 😁

What's your pocketable camera of choice? I have a Fujifilm X-F10 which is great, but sadly out of production for quite a few years now.

"Wintering" by Katherine May. It was a really peaceful read which I worked through slowly, and I'm eager to get into a sci-fi or fantasy page turner next. I've never been able to juggle multiple books; I'm envious that you can!

I think there's a good chance it's real, but he probably said it in his capacity as a celebrity pastor in LA or as an author of spiritual books rather than his capacity as member of AC/DC's road crew. Regardless, I'm Thunderstruck by this awesome quote!
