That is so frustrating. My wife has similar stories of how her problems go unaddressed by doctors because they decide to sidequest after her weight, instead of treating the issue -- including issues that made exercise painful, you know, a pretty straight line contributor.

The 85% of routine shop items, I am this. But things I don't often get, or that they've moved or filed under some strange logic have me pacing back and forth across the store.

That was excellent - thank you for sharing it!

It sounds like she asked the question perfectly then. Sorry that your return to the program is slower than desired.

If you get a chance to play Burning Wheel at a con, or with other experienced hands, do so! It's got a lot of cool systems (like building characters via lifepaths, etc.), but is a bit intimidating to run from reading the books.

That does seem weird and likely controlling. We aren't fresh from shrink wrap!

Happy birthday! An afternoon nap sounds like a delightful way to celebrate.

I drink a lot of tea - especially on work days bulk black loose leaf Indian tea. What should I look for/expect from Sri Lankan tea? [I'm eager to explore; most of the teas I've drunk have been from China or India.]

Cookie baking (and the positive feedback from deliveries) has been a bright spot in an otherwise drab season.

That sounds excellent to me! Hope you flow smoothly to your destination.

I went to his website and read it; I agree, it was a neat take. I like the way you warned him that you were linking it for the TTRPG crowd.

Calling it mysterious was an odd choice, given that this happens every winter.

I'm also 20. I still use cursive - mostly when writing checks - but developed much better handwriting for drafting style block print. And yeah - postcards brighten your day!

I added Pastoralia to my library queue; it sounds odd and interesting. Glad that 2025 has been okay for reading, even if 200 remains slightly out of reach!

That's nefarious! How do they act when you point out the omission? [Separately, yeah, detail oriented and making sure that orders are complete is a slightly different mindset from being a good baker.]

No; I'm a homebody for the rest of the year. Hope you have a great event!

I loved mine. After reading it, I had to immediately pick up The Dispossessed and read it too!

A line or arrow with text blurb is a leader.

If you're doing conversations with dragons, you'll want to excerpt the ones from A Wizard of Earthsea (and the remainder of the series, particularly The Furthest Shore).

It's so easy to slide into those feelings -- even when you've been the person avoiding events or being overwhelmed, you still need people to be excited and to offer events occasionally. We are slowly working on removing our main impediment to hosting; hope that will also fix some.

We went to dinner and a concert last night too. Very unusual for us, but we lucked into a great and new to us concert. (Steph Strings; PKD opened for her.)

Nettle and Bone by T Kingfisher. I'm enjoying it very much - particularly the spin on gathering a team.

Looking forward to it! It seems like a book that turns your many expertises into a book that only you could write - but also a squishier, softer handled hero for my taste. ;)

Fortunately, nearby cats can be a good cue -- if it gets chased, it's typically a bug!
