So tragic. 😭

Don’t mistake a refusal to mourn for cruelty. Some of us won’t canonize a man whose legacy was bigotry and hate; and those of us with moral clarity feel compelled to name his views for what they were: abhorrent. I feel for his kids, but I won’t apologize for not regretting his passing.

I grew up in Germany. I’ve lived in a “democratic socialist” country. Some things work better (like universal healthcare). Others, like housing access, can be messy. It’s not utopia. If we’re invoking Europe, let’s be honest about the trade-offs too.

How about? Compassion and temperance when the perpetrator is one of their own.

I agree with Mamdani on the urgency: housing, wages, inequality, but it’s complex. There’s a lot to unravel, and I’m not convinced a purely socialist approach is the answer. Still, I hope he beats Eric Adams and I hope he proves my apprehension unwarranted.

Charlie Kirk built his brand on punching down: racism, misogyny, Islamophobia, antisemitism, and bigotry. His death is tragic, but the legacy he leaves behind is poisoned. Don’t forget what he stood for. And don’t forget he is the predominant view of the GOP.

Mixed feelings on Mamdani, but folks need to listen. He’s channeling real frustration—from housing costs to an economy that’s left too many behind. People are tired of being ignored. Change doesn’t come wrapped in perfection—it comes when the overlooked start demanding better.

Yet more proof Trump only cares about people who serve him. Charlie Kirk can’t anymore, so his ‘grief’ is performative. Every word from Trump now is self-serving, not sincere.

Charlie Kirk called the Civil Rights Act a “mistake,” mocked gun victims, pushed anti-LGBTQ+ hate, and wanted a 10-year-old rape victim to give birth. The GOP calls that moderate.

This isn’t fringe—it’s the platform. Remember that in 2026 and 2028.
