Ok here goes: in research studying the welfare state, there is a school of thought that posits the welfare state as a "risk management state"—those who favor this theory state that they do so because it shifts the focus from conflicts over the means of production to conflicts over risk management.
Not sure if posting covid threads here is the right vibe but something has been bugging me & it feels like a waste to post on Twitter since it’s become such a sloppy thankless messy place so full of spam & vax card bots that I can’t use my screen reader—don’t even want to log in over there anymore 🙃

I’ve had lots of symptom flares this past week but my friends made my birthday yesterday a really nice day! Lots of messages, chats, sailor moon cakes and an anime hang! Plus this really awesome serial experiments lain card from my dear friends @reallandsend.bsky.social and @avierkant.bsky.social
