I usually agree with you, but this isn’t shrewd. It’s silly at best, and unhinged at worst.

Wow. This post in these comments are completely unhinged. Holy mackerel.

No one knew there was going to be a terrorist attack. It was an intelligence failure. It’s been widely covered in the press in English and Hebrew. It’s easy to read about.

What am I a traitor to?
April 28, 2025 at 3:25 AM
The attack took place on the state of Israel.
April 28, 2025 at 3:24 AM
Your point isn’t hard to understand, it’s just that most Jews don’t accept it and it doesn’t really apply to us. It doesn’t resonate with most Jews. Why is that so hard to understand?
April 28, 2025 at 3:02 AM
The irony is that October 7 was an attack on a music festival and a bunch of agricultural settlements that were on the leading edge of the peace/coexistence camp. But yeah,
eff Israel and the Jews. Sure. Sounds good.

Why don’t you go make yourself some tea and let the adults talk.
March 12, 2025 at 5:46 PM
You have a good sense of Palestinian grievances and understand the basics of Zionist history. That’s good, but if you want to understand what has been going on in Gaza you need to understand Iran’s role and its regional security policy.
March 12, 2025 at 5:13 PM
I’m not asking you to comment. :-) I’m conveying something to you.
March 12, 2025 at 5:12 PM
It is much more complicated than that. A lot of the driving force for that horrendous attack was Iran and its own regional security policy. I’ve spent an entire career working on Iran and I understand that country’s foreign policy well. They don’t care anymore about Arabs than they do about Jews.
March 12, 2025 at 5:08 PM
For example, Smotrich and Ben Gvir are disgusting racist terrorists. Israeli voters have made a terrible mistake in voting for them. They are damaging the state of Israel and the equities of the Jewish people that’s my view.I want to see a little bit more of that type of sensitivity in the discourse
March 12, 2025 at 4:59 PM
I believe I am getting a sense of where you’re coming from. I think that they both take a paternalistic approach to the Palestinians. This kind of approach dehumanizes the Palestinians and denies them agency. Hamas is an elected government, and that was a mistake.
March 12, 2025 at 4:56 PM
No worries.
March 12, 2025 at 4:49 PM
Well, I am fully disgusted with Chomsky and Finkelstein so that’s not a good starting point for us to connect. :-)
March 12, 2025 at 4:47 PM
I have not accused you of anything.
March 12, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Look. I’m Jewish, but I have Muslims in my family. My daughter is a Muslim. I have family on both sides of the conflict. I’m an Arabic speaker. I am not ignorant. I understand what Hamas is but right now they are the problem and they were elected. Just like Ben Gvir, a terrorist.
March 12, 2025 at 4:42 PM
You can’t just keep calling everything I say deflection. Engage with me.
March 12, 2025 at 4:40 PM
I figured you’d say something like that. I’m talking about facts though. I’m not playing social media gotcha. That approach is not going to work. Hamas and Iran are not the answer to the Palestinians’ problems.
March 12, 2025 at 4:37 PM
Well, Israel is a nuclear superpower so if the Palestinians are really interested in a change in their quality of life in the next two or 300 years, they might want to take a different approach then they took on October 7. Perhaps they can figure that the eff out and so can you.
March 12, 2025 at 4:33 PM
thank you. I have a thought for you. If the Jews had been given full rights and citizenship in Europe and not been expelled from the Arab countries,Zionism may never have come about.
March 12, 2025 at 4:11 AM
They never had THE NEED. I agree with you.
March 12, 2025 at 3:58 AM
I was referring to the 3000 year presence that predated Zionism. Zionism was a movement to bring Jews from the diaspora BACK to Israel. There were Jews in Palestine prior to the start of the Zionist movement. In any case, Israel is a fact.
March 12, 2025 at 3:55 AM
Jews are the indigenous people of the land, along with Druze, Arabs, etc. cmon.
March 12, 2025 at 3:49 AM
I try to make the composure telling. Also, I make the skid marks.
