For reference, look at how they handled Roy Moore and Al Franklin. Republicans put forth a prolific rapist and Dems ousted Al Franklin over sexual misconduct. Was what Franklin did ok? No. But Republicans were rewarded for putting out a bad candidate with the removal of a seasoned Democratic.

Republicans have long had a winning strategy of presenting candidates with bad/illegal history. They ride out the controversy until a Dem is found to have done a similar yet far less terrible offense. Then watch as the Dems oust that member to stay consistent in morals.

So greatful for the work you do! Too often, history is just distilled into dates and factoids. This makes it so easy for psudo science to take hold, manipulating half remembered truth into unsupported nonsense. But you slap that aside and dig into subjects/places and bring history to life.
