All the hospitality "because that's just how things are done" was part of the problem. He should have been ostracised by our establishment from the start.

If everybody would just stop living their lives getting into a rage about what they imagine other people might "get for nothing", think of the problems we wouldn't have.

and perhaps not even then" isn't a sensible way to run the world. Think of all the things the world would have missed out on if people hadn't migrated.

Surely all migrants are "economic migrants" at some level? Isn't wanting a better life what makes anybody leave their home for another country? The designation of "economic migrant" is an attempt to confer a judgement of undeservingness on some.

Laying waste the fabric of US society in a very (literally) concrete way. It's domestic terrorism and the fact it's the president's doing makes it all the more shocking. It's designed to subdue the populace into accepting the unacceptable.

Were it not for the high esteem in which I hold Mel Brooks, I'd recommend his 80s rap "It's good to be the King" as a backing track to all Trump's proclamations & posts. The self-regarding Louis of the film was a parody, but now looks somewhat understated.
