Viewing this Hema (it's a chain of shops in the Netherlands, not historical European martial arts) shop window display caused my soul to age by about 20 years.

So, a funny thing happened last weekend while I was out with a couple of friends for a drink at one of their local bars in Weesp, near Amsterdam:

For context, I've lived here for over 6 years now. My level of Dutch is reasonable I guess (comfortably B1), but I'd never pass as a native speaker.

Had to include the lovely inner cover of the "Eilean Fraoich" book from an Taigh Cèilidh, a reprint from the first edition. This one was actually given to me as a surprise gift by my boyfriend!

The pre-standardisation spelling and price in shillings and pence really show the age of the book, lol.
